The public realm is the shared space of a city – the space between buildings. Streets, sidewalks, city open spaces and building facades are among the primary ingredients of the public realm. Each can be a powerful contributor to character, comfort and identity, as well as a meaningful piece of a larger pattern. Landmarks, lighting, street furniture and planting are in the kit of parts with which we work in our public realm projects, all of which aim to realize goals for creating attractive and meaningful community space, stimulating investment, and reinforcing community identity.
